Enza Zaden introduces new bell pepper for the Southeast

Dash bell pepperCourtesy Enza ZadenSalinas, Calif.-based Enza Zaden seeds has introduced Dashen, an open-field bell pepper for the green pepper market.

The variety is well adapted for fall and spring plantings throughout the Southeast and yields jumbo to extra-large fruit, according to a product brochure.

Dashen matures in mid-season and has high resistance to bacterial spot races 1-5 and tobacco mosaic race 0. The variety has intermediate resistance to tomato spotted wilt virus race 0.

Conventionally treated seeds are available from Enza Zaden whereas 100 percent organic seeds are available from Vitalis North America, Salinas.
