Glyphosate herbicide can be a useful tool for potato growers for preplant control of weeds and volunteer grains.

But potatoes can fall victim to the broad-spectrum herbicide through drift, tank contamination or misapplication.

Focus on Potato has launched an educational webinar, Effect of Glyphosate on Potatoes to help growers learn about how the herbicide may contact potatoes, the symptoms and management strategies.

The 24-minute is led by Andrew Robinson, an assistant professor and Extension potato agronomist at North Dakota State University and the University of Minnesota.

It can be acessed through Aug. 31.

Focus on Potato is hosted by the non-profit Plant Management Network, a collaborative effort among the American Phytopathological Society, the American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America.
