Once again, Vance Publishing Corporation, parent of Citrus + Vegetable Magazine and the TheGrower.com, wants to recognize young leaders who will help the nation in the challenge of feeding more than 9 billion people by 2050.
The 40 Under 40 Awards will highlight producers under the age of 40 who will help the national reach that goal.
Nominees can come from any agricultural sector of production to biotechnology and university research.
To be eligible, individuals must be nominated by a colleague or fellow professional active within America’s food system. Nominees must be 40 years or younger by July 30, 2014. Deadline for nomination is July 31, 2014.
Nominees also must be involved with a business involved in food production, food processing, food safety, food research, food transportation or a group, organization, association or university that serves those industries.
Among the recipients in 2014 was Florida agriculture commissioner Adam Putnam.
This year’s award winners will be announced in September and will be featured in Vance publications.
