EPA registers multi-product potato seed piece treatment

CruisesMaxx logoThe Environmental Protection Agency has registered CruiserMaxx Potato Extreme, a potato seed piece treatment from Greensboro, N.C.-based Syngenta Crop Protection.

The liquid product contains the active ingredients fludioxonil, difenoconazole and thiamethoxam, according to a news release.

The two fungicides control Fusarium spp., Rhizoctonia spp. and Helminthosporium solani, which causes silver scurf, black scurf and canker.

Thiamethoxam, a neonicotinoid insecticide, controls Colorado potato beetle, aphids, potato leafhopper and potat psyllid.

The seed treatment also contains a dry agent to help with seed piece wound healing.
