potato bloomVicky BoydKeeping potato fields clean of weeds requires a systematic approach, like the type that's outlined in a new Web seminar.A new Focus on Potato Web seminar offers potato growers an opportunity to learn more about herbicide resistance management.

Narrated by Jed Colquhoun, a University of Wisconsin-Madison weed science professor, the 14-minute presentation will walk growers through the tenets of resistance management, according to a news release.

Colquhoun will provide a systematic way to assign herbicides to crops across the rotation in a way that maintains weed control while using multiple herbicide modes of action.

The Web seminar, titled "Managing Weed Resistance to Herbicides in the Potato Rotation," will be available through Feb. 28.

Focus on Potato is produced by the nono-profit Plant Management Network, collaboration among the American Phytopathological Society, American Society of Agronomy and the Crop Science Society of America.
