New clothing protects while breathing
Vicky BoydMatt Radin of BWS Distributors models new protective clothing that's comfortable. A protective garment that breathes and helps prevent worker overheating isn't new to industrial users, such as large aircraft manufacturers.
But Enviroguard's Body Filter 95+ particle protective garment is new to the agricultural industry, says Mark Radachi, director of sales, west, for the Phoenix-based company.
The unique fabric protects against more than 99 percent of dangerous particulates that are 0.3 microns or larger.
At the same time, the fabric allows for airflow and protects against heat build-up, he says.
The silky soft interior actually wicks moisture away from the body.
Because the Enviroguard protective clothing is more comfortable, workers may be less inclined to roll up sleeves, slit sleeves or otherwise modify it as Radachi says he's seen with the traditional Tyvek-based personal protective clothing.
"That's the holy grail—comfort and protection," he says.
BWS Distributors Inc. of Santa Rosa, Calif., is distributing the protective gear in the West.
