Additions include a weather station, rain gauge, temperature sensor, pyranometer to measure solar radiation and leaf wetness sensor, according to a news release.
Field Connect uses field-installed probes to monitor soil moisture levels at specific depths. It sends the information to a secure website for viewing.
In addition, the new sensors will provide data on temperature, wind speed, wind direction, humidity, solar radiation, leaf wetness and rainfall.
The sensors are installed in customers' field as part of the Field Connect Gateway—hardware used to consolidate information from the sensors.
Soil moisture and environmental data are transmitted to a secure website for viewing, and users can program the system to send them alerts based on set parameters.
Users also can view data charts to identify trends.
