Modesto, Calif.-based Harris Moran and its French sister company Clause, have acquired Mesa Maize, a Olathe, Colo.-based sweet corn seed company.

Mesa Maize employs 12 people and is an industry leader in the development of high quality homozygous sugary enhanced sweet corn hybrids, according to a news release.

Dave Galinat, Mesa Maize founder, will join the Harris Moran team while continuing to operate out of Olathe.

The acquisition strengthens Harris Moran and Clause's position in the sweet corn market and provides Mesa Maize access to their distribution channels, according to the release.
