Novozymes, based in Copenhagen, Denmark, announced it plans to acquire Houston-based Natural Industries Inc.
The companies have agreed not to disclose the financial terms, although Natural Industries reports annual income of $5 million, according to a news release.
Founded in 1992, Natural Industries has both a commercial and lawn and garden division that specialize in biological products based on Streptomyces micro-organisms.
Among its ag products is Actinovate AG, a broad-spectrum biological fungicide that contains the patented Streptomyces lydicusstrain WYEC 108.
Novozymes, which specializes in enzymes, has a presence in more than 130 countries and offers more than 700 products, according to its website.
In the crop-production sector, it produces biofertility, biocontrol and bioyield-enhancer products.
