EPA registers Cheminova fungicide

The Environmental Protection Agency has registered Cercobin Fungicide from Cheminova Inc. of Research Triangle Park, N.C., for use on a wide array of crops.

The broad-spectrum fungicide has both soil and foliar activity.

The active ingredient is thiophanate-methyl, which belongs to the Fungicide Resistance Action Committee's Group 1, according to a news release.

The product is labeled for use on dry beans, edible beans, tree nuts, pome and stone fruit, cucurbits, onions, potatoes and strawberries, to name a few.

It is active on white mold, Cercospora blight, frogeye leaf spot, Cercospora leaf spot and powdery mildew.
