BASF grants Cheminova marketing rights to Sovran fungicide

Cheminova

BASF Corp. of Research Triangle Park, N.C., has granted the Danish firm, Cheminova, exclusive rights to market the fungicide, Sovran, in the United States.

Under the arrangement, which takes effect immediately, BASF will discontinue selling the strobilurin fungicide, according to a news release.

Sovran contains the active ingredient, kresoxim-methyl, and is labeled for a wide array of fruit and vegetable crops.

It targets powdery mildew, Botrytis and several other fungal diseases.

The arrangement will allow BASF to focus on its newer products, such as Kixor herbicide technology and the yet-to-be-registered Xemium fungicide, according to the release.
