Gilroy, Calif.-based Germains Seed Technology and Wolf Trax, based in Winnepeg, Manitoba, Canada, have teamed to offer vegetable seed coated with Wolf Trax's Protinus micronutrients.

Germains will be the sole supplyer of Protinus for lettuce, carrots, spinach, onions, parsnips and tomatoes in Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Indiana, New Mexico, Oregon and Washington, according to a news release.

Protinus contains a proprietary blend of zinc, manganese and iron.

It will be marketed as goseed Protinus.

The micronutrients help get seedlings off to a healthy start by providing the micronutrients close to the roots, according to Wolf Trax.
