Septoria leaf spot is one of the more common foliar diseases of tomatoes, particularly in the East.

To help growers and consultants learn more about this destructive disease, Focus on Tomato has launched a free educational webinar.

Tom Zitter, a professor and Extension plant pathologist at Cornell University in Geneva, N.Y., leads viewers through color photos of the disease, the causes and disease cycle, factors leading to the disease, and cultural and chemical management practices.

Zitter also details the development of genetic resistance for Septoria leaf spot and what you should consider before adopting it.

The Septoria presentation will be available through Aug. 31.

Other recent educational webinars can be viewed at Focus on Tomato.

Focus on Tomato is produced by the non-profit Plant Management Network, which is jointly managed by the American Society of Agronomy, American Phytopathological Society, and Crop Science Society of America.
