Growers may want to drop off an outer span or spans to avoid a tree or other large obstacles, then recouple them once the pivot has passed the obstruction, says Scott Mauseth, product manager.

The system allows one person to perform the task in 15 to 20 minutes.

After a worker decouples the spans, a small winch system lifts it off and lowers it down.

Specially designed electrical connections, which resemble large electrical plugs with a clamp over them to hold them in place, ease the process, he says.

"This is something that's really, truly designed to fit more people's needs," Mauseth says. "It's relatively inexpensive to add as an option or to a new machine."
