The U.S. Department of Agriculture's Agricultural Marketing Service is seeking comments on materials that can be used for organic crop production.
The National Organic Standards Board, comprising growers and other industry stakeholders, has drafted a set of documents on how to classify inputs, according to a news release.
The documents detail materials used for organic crop production, livestock production and handling.
A second set of documents clarifies materials that can be used in organic crop production, including a list of allowed natural and synthetic materials and a limited number of prohibited materials.
