UC workshop focuses on food safety audit compliance

Noted University of California, Davis, food safety expert Trevor Suslow will lead a one-day workshop, April 2, that focuses on food safety audit compliance.

A second, optional half-day session, April 3, will lead participants in developing their own food safety manual.

Among the topics in the main program are:
• Introduction and areness of GAPs, or good agricultural practices, and GHPs, or good handling practices;
• On-farm hazard analysis and risk awareness;
• Prevention and control stategies;
• Learning from real-world expamples; and
• Resource identification.

The cost is $350 for the main course and includes instructional materials, lunch, coffee beraks and a networking reception Monday evening.

The optional workshop is an additional $125.
