Spotted wing drosophila adults were discovered in a New Jersey blueberry farm in July, marking the first time the pest has been found in that state.

As a result, Extension specialists recommend that growers in Jersey as well as other nearby states where the fly pest has not been found yet hang traps to monitor for the pest's presence.
