Sensor detects ethylene in potato, onion storage

Media, Pa.-based Global Cooling Inc. has introduced an ethylene sensor aimed at potato and onion storage.

The patented sensor is accurate to 1 part per million of ethylene gas, according to a news release.

The sensor is paired with a solid-state PLC controller, which comes in a Nema-4 washdown-rated enclosure.

The controller is mounted to a wall with the sensor nearby.
