Proposed Korean free-trade agreeement could cost U.S. jobs

U.S. Trade Representative Ron Kirk told members of the House Ag Committee last week that a proposed free-trade agreement with South Korea would net 70,000 American jobs.

But an analysis by the nonprofit think tank Economic Policy Institute says the proposal would displace 159,000 American jobs.

The institute likened it to the North American Free Trade Agreement of 1994.
