Cal Ex Trading exports both fruits and vegetables. Western Growers Association says the strike impacted broccoli, celery and other vegetable exports.

On the import side, the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecast slow movement of Central American pineapples on the West Coast as a result of the labor action.

Many inbound ships diverted to Oakland or to Ensenada, Mexico during the strike. Some could end up making stops in Los Angeles or Long Beach anyway, according to port spokesmen.
