She will start May 19, according to a news release.
A cum lauda graduate from the University of Florida with a bachelor's degree in political science, Himrod has roots in citrus, having worked for her family's citrus nursery, Himrod Citrus Nursery in Bowling Green.
She also has worked for Morrell, Watson & Southwell, PA, in Wauchula; at the Alachua county Clark of Courts; and with Rep. Ben Albritton.
Himrod replaces retiring executive director Barbara Carlton, who served the association for 20 years.
The association represents about 300 citrus growers in Southwest Florida.
