The Northeastern Integrated Pest Management Center has launched a new website, Stop BMSB, which provides one-stop shopping for information about the invasive brown marmorated stink bug.
Visitors can learn about the stink bug's habits, monitoring and management.
They also can read the latest research into the pest, such as where it spends the winter.
The website is a collaborative effort among the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Penn State University, Rutgers University, Virginia Tech, University of Maryland, University of Delaware, Washington State University, Cornell University, Oregon State University, North Carolina State University and the Northeastern IPM Center.
Brown marmorated stink bug, now found in 38 states, has caused millions of dollars in crop damage since it was first confirmed in Pennsylvania in the late 1990s.
