Potato industry defends tuber in light of Harvard study

The head of the Washington Potato Commission, who lost 22 pounds on an all-potato diet, defends the vegetable as a nutrient-rich part of a balanced diet.

But a Harvard University analysis found that eating potato chips caused people to gain 1.69 pounds more every four years than if you didn't eat the snack.
