The Soquel, Calif.-based Ecological Farming Association is offering eight fellowships to beginning farmers in San Mateo, Santa Cruz, Santa Clara, Monterey and San Benito counties to attend the 33rd annual EcoFarm Conference, Jan. 23-26, in Pacific Grove, Calif.
Each fellowship includes complimentary registration, lodging and meals for the four-day conference.
The fellowships are part of a larger $665,000 U.S. Department of Agriculture grant awarded to the association, as well as the Center for Agroecology and Sustainable Food Systems, the Community Alliance for Family Farmers and the California Certified Organic Farmers.
The funds are for a project titled, "Building a Foundation for New Farmers: Training, Resources and Networks."
