Gov. Scott cuts Florida citrus greening research funding

Gov. Rick Scott dealt the Florida citrus industry a one-two blow by cutting citrus greening research funds by $2 million and declining to veto a measure that significantly changes the Florida Citrus Commission.

Scott's actions will likely spur debate within the industry about whether the Florida Department of Citrus should replace the $2 million in lost funding with marketing funds.
