Much like a recent huanglongbing scientific conference had a grower day, the 127th Florida State Horticultural Society plans to host a grower day at its annual meeting in early June 2014.

The program will include talks addressing alternative crops, such as blueberries, blackberries, peaches, macadamia nuts and others, for citrus growers wanting to diversify, according to an Extension email.

Speakers will examine the economic aspects of several crops aside from the horticultural aspects.

The grower day will most likely be Monday, June 2, but it hasn't yet been solidified.

Registration also has not been set but is expected to be about $100, including the evening reception and proceedings.
