Florida Ag in the Classroom seeks volunteer story readers

Florida Ag in the Classroom has published its latest children's book, Florida's Healthy Farms.

If you like to read stories aloud to youngsters, here's your chance.

Florida Agriculture in the Classroom Inc. is seeking industry volunteers to read its latest book, Healthy Florida Farms, to elementary school children, according to a news release.

The ninth annual Florida Agriculture Literacy Day is planned for May 1.

The fourth in a series of rhyming children's books educates students about the nutritiional value of the state's fruits, vegetables and meet products.

You can register at Ag in the Classroom's website, www.agtag.org.

Deadline to register if you want to read on May 1 is April 16.

Even if you can't make it that day, you can still read to school children by registering at least two weeks in advance of a desired date.
