The Florida Fruit & Vegetable Association’s Emerging Leader Development Program is seeking nominations from individuals age 25-40 for its third annual session.

Producers or trade members of FFVA may nominate someone within their organizations or families to participate. Applicants also must be working in or pursuing a career in the Florida specialty crop industry.

The program’s goal is to prepare young leaders so they can improve the sustainability and economic viability of specialty crop agriculture, according to a news release.

A class of up to 12 members will be selected for the one-year program, which includes a trip to Tallahassee, meeting with FFVA staff members and tours of specialty crop production areas.

The deadline to apply is May 1.
