Delegate WG logoThe Environmental Protection Agency recently approved a label change to Delegate WG insecticide from Dow AgroSciences that now allows it to be used for suppression of Diaprepes root weevil in citrus.

The grubs or larvae of Diaprepes abbreviatus, also known as the citrus root weevil, feed on citrus tree roots, weakening or killing them, according to a news release.

In addition to direct damage, the feeding sites provide entryways for soilborne pathogens, such as Phytophthora.

Delegate contains the active ingredient spinetoram and belongs to the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee's Group 5.
