The Environmental Protection Agency and California Department of Pesticide Regulation have approved label changes to Seduce and Bug-N-Sluggo insect baits for use on ants in trees and vines.

Seduce contains the active ingredient spinosad whereas Bug-N-Sluggo contains spinosad and iron phosphate, according to the registrant, Columbia, Md.-based Certis USA's, website.

Spinosad is manufactured by Certis by W. Neudorff GMbH KG of Germany under a licensing agreement with Dow Agrosciences, which owns spinosad, according to a news release.

Both produces come in highly compressed pellets that are ultraviolet light and rain resistant.

They also are Organic Materials Review Institute listed and National Organic Program approved.
