Disease forecasting system helps melon growers cut fungicides

MELCAST, a melon disease forecasting system developed by Purdue University, can typically save Indiana muskmelon and watermelon growers two to three fungicide applications per season.

Pumpkin growers also can benefit by using the watermelon EVI values to schedule fungicide applications.
