Compass Minerals buys Wolf Trax micronutrients

Wolf Trax logoOverland Park, Kan.-based Compass Minerals has completed its acquisition of Wolf Trax Inc., a Winnipeg, Manitoba-based company specializing in patented micronutrient products for high-value crops.

Wolf Trax offers a number of micronutrients as DDP, or dry dispersible powder, formulations, according to a news release.

It also produces Protinus seed-applied fertilizer.

Compass Minerals is a large supplier of highway deicing products, according to its website. The company also provides food-grade salt, water care products, minerals for animal nutrition, as well as other salt and mineral products for consumer and industrial uses in North America.

Its subsidiaries, Great Salt Lake Minerals and Big Quill Resources, produce sulfate of potash, or SOP.
