California Tomato Farmers, a Fresno-based cooperative, has launched a new online tool that allows buyers to view co-op members' safety audits in real time.

Last year, CTF launched an online database, but the newest rendition from Azzule Systems of Santa Maria, Calif., provides even more transparency, according to a news release.

“Our customers have asked for a detailed audit trail and that’s what we’re providing," CTF President Ed Beckman said in a news release. "Now, customers are able to view in real-time, full audits, on-site corrections and detailed corrective actions.”

More than 80 retail, food-service and wholesale customers already use the secure password-protected online system.

The new site is updated daily with the latest on audits and corrective actions recommended by government inspectors.

Audits are reviewed by government audit supervisors, and only supervisors can lock the audits.

Once locked, the audits cannot be removed from the database.
