Washington apple grower buys winegrape vineyards

Sagemoor Vineyard logoCourtesy International Wine AssociatesAllan Brothers Inc., a Naches, Wash., apple grower-shipper, plans to buy Sagemoor Vineyards, a diversified fruit-growing operation near Pasco.

The deal is expected to close by the end of April.

International Wine Associates served as advisers to Sagemoor Vineyards in the sale.

Sagemoor Vineyards actually is four properties under common management: Sagemoor, Bacchus, Dionysus and Weinbau, according to a news release.

they comprise 883 acres of winegrapes, 230 acres of cherries and 190 acres of apples.

Sagemoor grapes are sold to more than 70 other Washington wineries.

Before this deal, Allan Brothers already had about 2,600 acres of cherries and apples in south central Washington.
