Florida seeks Woman of the Year in Agriculture nominations

The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is seeking nominations for its annual Woman of the Year in Agriculture.

The award, now in its 29th year, goes toward a female leader who has made a significant contribution to the state's agricultural industry.

Last year's recipient was Imogene Yarborough of Geneva, Fla., who was active in the national Cattlemen's and CattleWomen's associations.

This year's winner will be honored during the Woman of the Year in Agriculture Luncheon, Feb. 10, held in conjunction with the Florida State Fair.

Nomination deadline is Oct. 25.

To nominate someone, fill out the form at www.freshfromflorida.com and mail it to Commissioner Adam H. Putnam, Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Office of External Affairs, Attention: Cheryl F. Flood, Florida Citrus Building, 500 Third St. NW, Winter Haven, FL 33881.
