2014 Georgia Farmer of the Year named

Grimes was recognized at Ag Day at the State Capitol event and was awarded a plaque from Georgia’s governor, Nathan Deal, and Gary W. Black, agriculture commissioner.

“We’re proud to see Philip get some recognition for his outstanding production and conservation practices,” said Charles Hall, executive director at the Georgia Fruit and Vegetable Growers Association. “He and his family have been great supporters of this association and its mission to assist the produce industry.”

Grimes will represent the state of Georgia at Moultrie’s Sunbelt Ag Expo in October as a contender for the Swisher Sweets/Sunbelt Expo Southeastern Farmer of the Year Award.
