EPA OKs new insecticide formulation

The Environmental Protection Agency has registered a new formulation of Entrust insecticide—Entrust SC—from Dow AgroSciences of Indianapolis.

As with its predecessor, the new formalation is listed with the Organic Materials Review Institute for use in organic production, according to a news release.

Entrust SC contains the active ingrediant, spinosad, which is a member of the Insecticide Resistance Action Committee's Group 5.

The product is active against thrips, worms, leafminers and spotted wing drosophila, according to the release.

It is labeled for use on a myriad crops, including berries, citrus, cole crops, cucurbits, fruiting vegetables, leafy vegetables, pome fruit, stone fruit, sweet corn and strawberries.

Whats new about this product? Its the same active as Spintor 2SC. Is this a gimmick or a spin to sell a product that stoppped working years ago buy saying it can be used organic....

No, it's a company taking that extra step so organic producers have another tool to help them profitably grow products consumers want at a price they can afford.
