Winerywise, a voluntary effort by the Washington state wine industry to promote sustainability, will hold three separate sessions to update participants on 2012 field trials and current winery practices.
Each two-hour session will feature speakers, including Wiinerywise steering committee member and consulting winemaker Judy Thoet, Washington State University Extension enologist Jim Harbertson, Kennedy/Jenks Consultants senior scientist Stuart Childs and Low Input Viticulture and Enology executive director Chris Serra.
Attendees also will learn about the science behind sustainability and a convenient way to comply with employee health and safety rules and practices.
The three meetings are:
• July 23—Walla Walla Community College, 2 p.m.
• July 24—Yakima Valley Community College, 9 a.m.
• July 25—Chateau St. Michelle Winery, Woodinville, 10 a.m. This session also includes a winery tour and wine tasting.
The cost of each session is $15.
