Raspberry and blackberry guide
Cornell University Cooperative Extension in Ithaca, N.Y., has published the comprehensive Raspberry and Blackberry Production Guide for the Northeast, Midwest and Eastern Canada.
Designed for novice and experts alike, the 157-page guide contains 14 chapters that range from the history and biology of cultivated raspberries and blackberries to weed management and spray application technology. It also includes 134 color photos, 36 line drawings and 30 tables.
More than 70 cultivars are described, including summer-fruiting red, black and purple raspberries; fall-fruiting red and yellow raspberries; thornless, thorny and fall-fruiting blackberries; and hybrid berries. The publication also reviews field, high-tunnel and greenhouse production.
Eighteen university and government experts from the United States and Canada wrote the guide.
