Gowan acquires marketing rights to Confirm 2F

Tokyo-based Nippon Soda Co. Ltd has granted the U.S. crop protection marketing rights for Confirm 2F Insecticide to Yuma, Ariz.-based Gowan Co. LLC.

Nippon Soda had acquired the brand and its active ingredient—tebufenozide—from Indianapolis-based Dow AgroSciences on March 31.

As part of the agreement, Dow will sell out existing inventories before Gowan begins distributing it, according to a news release.

Confirm, an insect growth regulator, controls a broad spectrum of pests that belong to the order Lepidoptera—butterflies and moths.

It works by interfering with the larvae's normal molting process.
